According to the General Statistics Office, Viet Nam welcomed
approximately 833,598 international tourist arrivals in February 2016,
increasing 3.5% over previous month and 20% compared to the same period last
year.
On 22 February 2016, in Ha Noi, Viet Nam Tourism Association
(VITA) in collaboration with Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT)
and Ha Noi Department of Tourism organized a press conference to introduce the
4th Viet Nam International Travel Mart – VITM Hanoi 2016 which will take place
from 14 to 17 April 2016 at Viet Nam Exhibition Fair Center (148 Giang Vo
Street, Ha Noi).
The tour operator Vietravel has launched two new luxury package
tours: five-star cruise package and five-star holiday package.
Every year, the Sinh Village wrestling festival takes place on
the 10th day of the first lunar month (February 17, 2016) in Phu Mau Commune,
Phu Vang District, central Thua Thien-Hue Province, attracting thousands of
residents and tourists.
Ethnic groups in the northern mountainous province Bac Kan held
the Long Tong (Going to the field) festival on February 16-17 (the ninth and
tenth days of the first lunar month) at Ba Be Lake in Nam Mau Commune, Ba Be

Monkey’ opened in Ha Noi on February 16.
On 13 February 2016, at Pavillon Baltard in Nogent-sur-Marne
City, Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France (CCV) coordinated with Vietnamese
People Association in France to organize the celebration of Lunar New Year 2016
under the theme “Spring in Highlands”.
On Jan, 28th 2016, the Viet Nam National Administration of
Tourism (VNAT) with the technical support of EU- ESRT Project held a round table
meeting on coordination of international donors for Viet Nam tourism.
A series of activities are underway nationwide to celebrate the
upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival and the 86th founding anniversary of the
Communist Party of Viet Nam.
Being endowed with beautiful scenery, popular revolutionary
relics and the advantages of geographical location, Quang Tri Province has been
developing its strengths to promote tourism.
Travel during Tet holiday will be easier for passengers as the
low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific will offer 11,000 tickets priced 11,000 VND
(0.49 USD) one way for 27 domestic and international routes.

Pagoda Festival, which is scheduled to open on February 13.
An exhibition of six Vietnamese artists’ paintings is taking
place in New Delhi, India on January 31.
A tour of yellow-eyed grass fields, a natural attraction in Dong
Thap Muoi (plain of reeds) during the flood season, has been launched to attract
more visitors during spring.
The springtime festival, themed ‘Colours of spring from every
corner of the country’, will be held from February 10-15 (the third to eighth
day of the first lunar month) at the Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Culture-Tourism
Village in Ha Noi.
