Hanoi Administration
of Tourism (HNAT) was
set up by Decision No. 1216/QĐ-UB date 21 June 1994 of the Hanoi
People’s Committee. It is in charge of administering all tourism
activities in Hanoi. The Department operates under the direct
management of the Hanoi People’s Committee, as well as professional
direction, guidance and supervision of the Vietnam National
Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
Duties:
1.
Prepare long term and short-term plans and projects to develop tourism
activities in Hanoi, based on the national and provincial
socio-economic development and the industry’s strategies, for the
approval of the Hanoi People’s committee and the Vietnam National
Administration of Tourism.
2.
Popularize and promote the domestic and international tourist markets.
Create the legal environment for tourism development.
3.
Supervise activities of travel agencies to make sure that they are in
line with the government policies and the city’s regulations, take
actions against their illegal operations within the department’s
jurisdiction.
4.
Organize training courses on management and professional techniques
such as traveling and hotel services for local enterprises.
