One of the great pleasures of any visit to Hoi An is strolling along the beautiful streets of the old town at night under the flickering lights of the many beautiful lanterns. These simple yet colorful lanterns are both part of Hoi An culture and Hoi An today. We offer you a tour to a traditional Hoi An handicraft village to make some lanterns. Itinerary One-day tour:
9am: Our local guide will meet you at the hotel and you will ride by bicycle to the home of a craftsman in the old streets. Here you will have a brief introduction to the history, shape, and color of the lanterns as well as the many stages of making them. You can make your own lantern and keep it as a souvenir.
After that you will learn to cook traditional Hoi An food, have lunch and relax. After lunch you will be shown how to decorate and pack the lantern, before saying goodbye to your host and returning to the hotel by bicycle.
Half-day tour:
The same itinerary as for the one day tour. However, the tour does not include lunch, only snack, mineral water, 1 sample for making lantern.
Includes:
- English or French speaking guides. Other languages are available upon request.
- Admission fees for all sightseeing places.
- Bicycle.
- Lunch (full day tour only).
Excludes:
- Personal expenses.
- Drinks.
- Tip.
Notes: Private car transfer is required for outside center hotels: Group 1-2 pax: total 5 usd; Group over 3 pax: 2 usd/ 1 pax.
