While other ASEAN countries have a flourishing tourism industry 
and are succeeding in luring visitors from other countries, Vietnam is ignoring 
the vital needs required to develop in this field.
                            
                        When visiting Can Tho City, tourists should try bun ca (noodle 
with fish), a typical dish of the wetlands of the Mekong Delta.
                            
                        The former imperial capital of Hue's Ta Tung Tu (Left Temple) 
will soon be the last building in Nguyen Dynasty Emperor Minh Mang's royal 
complex to be restored.
                            
                        Vam Sat mangrove forest is not very far from Ho Chi Minh City, 
and is considered as the “green lung” of the city.
                            
                        The United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, has released 
an official message of support for World Tourism Day 2011, which will be 
celebrated on 27 September under the theme ‘Tourism – Linking Cultures’.
                            
                        The local tourism sector needs USD 42.5 billion during the next 
10 years, for the development of infrastructure and service. 
                            
                        A number of local travel agencies prefer the city’s new tourism 
slogan ‘Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City’ but they want the city’s government to conduct 
an intensive marketing campaign to promote tourism trademarks and popularize the

                        The Ministry of Transport and Communications on August 12 
announced the Prime Minister’s decision on a plan for the Long Thanh 
International Airport in the southeastern province of Dong Nai.
                            
                        13 Vietnamese provinces in the Mekong Delta will introduce their 
tourism potentials and tourism projects needing investment at the upcoming 
international tourism investment promotion conference named “Four Countries – 
One Destination” to be held on September 13th in Ho Chi Minh City.
                            
                        The Dong Van Stone Plateau in the northern mountainous province 
of Ha Giang has attracted 30,000 tourists, including over 10,000 foreigners, 
helping raise the province’s tourism revenue to VND41 billion in July. 
                            
                        The Tourism Authority of Thailand has said it is keen for their 
cruises to stop in Vietnam to make its products more interesting.
                            
                        A lot of troubles occurring recently with Vietnam’s waterway 
tourism have badly influenced Vietnamese tourism brand. Meanwhile, state 
management agencies still do not know from where they should start to settle the 
current problems.
                            
                        The tourism program entitled, “Crossing Tay Bac-Son La 2011” was 
presented by the northern mountainous province of Son La yesterday in Hanoi, to 
be held from August 27 to September 2.
                            
                        A road tour between Vietnam, Laos and Thailand has been 
attracting more tourists to the countries since a bridge was launched across the 
Mekong River in December 2006.
                            
                        All the travel firms in HCM City have reported a bumper crop in 
summer 2011 with revenue, especially from luxurious clients.
