India to introduce its folk arts in Hanoi
A 15-member delegation of Ladakh Art-Culture
Troupe, Northern India, will visit and perform in Hanoi from April 5th to 7th.
The performances will take place at the Hanoi Opera House.
Established in 2004 with 25 members, Ladakh Art-Culture Troupe, from Northern
India, wants to preserve and promote folk culture via performances on the
grounds of the Ladakh regional tradition.
Conducted by Tsering Sonam Sopari, a poet, veteran cum talented artist, the
troupe has restored several endangered Ladakh cultural symbols, including
traditional costumes, musical instruments and legends.
Sopari has also inspired young talents to the love for folk art, so that they
are keen on devoting for traditional arts.
