4th National Folk Songs Festival takes place

The Fourth National Folk Songs Festival has been launched by the Vietnam Television (VTV) and the Association of Vietnamese Folklorists.
The contest aims to seek, preserve and develop traditional folk songs in different places. Candidates are professional and amateur singers of different ages from many cities and provinces nationwide.
Best candidates selected from qualifying rounds in 6 areas nationwide will compete at the national final round.
The first qualifying round, in the northern plain and midland region, will be broadcast live on Channel VTV3.
Since 2005, the event has been a good chance for singers and artists to meet and exchange expertise on traditional music.
