Building the biggest Rong house in the Central Highlands
On February 14th, Le Duc Hoa, Vice Chairman of
Thang Loi precinct People’s Committee, Kon Tum province, said that the Ba Na
ethnic minority group in the Kon Klor village has started the rebuilding of the
Rong house of the Kon Klor – the biggest Rong house in the Central Highlands,
which was burnt in May 2010.
The Rong house was built on the foundation of the old house. It will be 22
metres in height, 16 metres in length, and 6.5 metres in width, on the total
area of 100m2. It will be built by traditional materials such as bamboo and
leaves.
Local people will contribute materials and working days to build the house which
is expected to be completed on the occasion of the southern liberation for
national unification (Apr.30).
