Russian visitors interest Vietnam

A large number of Russian visitors have chosen ASEAN countries, including Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia, for their winter holidays due to the volatile situation in Egypt, according to some travel agencies.
Mrs. Hoang Thi Phong Thu, Director of the Lanta Anh Duong Travel Company, said that Russian visitors are interested in Vietnam’s tourism services, such as restaurants, hotels, resorts, beaches, and shopping centers. However, flights between Vietnam – Russia cost more than those between Russia and Egypt.
At present, most of the Russian visitors take charter flights to Vietnam. According to Mr. Le Van Nghia, a representative of Transaero, S7, and Vladivostok Air, the air carriers plan to increase their flights to Vietnam for Russian visitors.
Vietnam Airlines provides three direct flights a week from Moscow to Ho Chi Minh City, however, these flights are unable to meet the demand of Russian passengers at present.
