Swimming to green Cu Lao Cham Island

18 athletes, from France, Japan, Scotland and Vietnam, took part in a 20km long sea swimming contest, held in Cu Lao Cham Island under the sponsorship of Apex Vietnam Company.
They swam from Lang Beach on Cu Lao Cham Island in Tan Hiep Commune, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province and to Cua Dai beach in Hoi An city.
The first prize winner was a Vietnamese athlete Nguyen Thanh Liem, and the runner-up was a woman from France.
Mr. Masami Nakamura, project developing director of Apex Vietnam Company said that the competition aimed to raise people’s awareness of the beauty of Cu Lao Cham Island and encourage them to preserve and develop such a beautiful tourist site.
This is the first time that the Hoi An City People’s Committee cooperated with Apex Vietnam company to organise such an event.
