Nations and cities to participate the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi

A number of embassies in Vietnam and foreign countries have expressed their eagerness to participate in activities marking the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi.
The statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung at a meeting of the National Steering Committee for the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi held in Hanoi on January 26th.
He said that localities across the country have actively joined in such preparations.
The Deputy Prime Minister also asked the capital city of Hanoi to increase promotional activities to polish Hanoi’s image as a city for peace.
So far, 26 out of 34 key infrastructure facilities have been completed for the great event. UNESCO issued a resolution o­n the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi and created favourable conditions for the promotion of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi to other countries and international organizations.
