Festival on Long Bien Bridge to kick off

“Long Bien Bridge Memory Festival", part of the program to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Hanoi, will be broadcast live on VTV1 on Oct 10. The festival is the first of its kind which will be held on Long Bien Bridge.
At the event, an atmosphere of the 19th century will be revived on the bridge to introduce old features and handicraft products from villages and Hanoi cuisine. Especially, old exhibits relevant to the bridge will be displayed for the first time, including a locomotive steam-engine, which will transport people and artists from Gia Lam Railway Station across the bridge.
The festival will be on Oct 10-11, 2009.
