Da Nang opens Vietnam’s longest suspension bridge
The Da Nang municipal People’s
Committee is to inaugurate the Thuan Phuoc Suspension Bridge over Da Nang Bay
today after six years of construction.
The 1.85 kilometer bridge, Vietnam’s longest suspension bridge, connects Hai
Chau and Son Tra districts.
The bridge links roads that connect well-known sites including Da Nang Bay, Son
Tra Peninsula and My Khe Beach in Quang Ngai Province.
Also, work is set to begin today on the Rong Bridge, also in Da Nang. The
666-meter bridge is expected to cost VND1.5 trillion (US$84.3 million).
The bridge was designed by US-based Louis Berger Group, Inc.
Construction will be undertaken by Company No. 508, an affiliate of Civil
Construction Engineering Coporation No.5, and Bridge Company No. 75.
