Visiting Da Lat Flower Park

Da Lat is known as the city of a thousand of flowers. In Da Lat, a wide variety of flowers bloom throughout the year, but especially in February. The city park is the most popular place for locals and tourists to admire the beauty of Da Lat flowers.
The Da Lat Flower Park showcases Vietnam’s biggest collection of flowers-comprising hundreds of species. Located at the end of Xuan Huong lake, the park covers more than 7,000 square meters. It attracts a large number of visitors every day. The park’s arched gate is naturally decorated with colorful flowers. Along the paths in the park are fountains and pine trees. Carts covered with flowers go around the park to delight the visitors.
Bui Huyen Phuong, a tourist from Hanoi, said “My first destination in Da Lat is the Da Lat Flower Park. It is a spacious park with a lot of flowers which are beautifully arranged. There I always take a lot of beautiful photos”.
Passing through the gate, visitors enter a flower museum containing more than 300 species - roses, chrysanthemums, lilies, mimosas, daffodils, and more, notably orchids and thousands of cactuses from Africa.
Linh Dan, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said “Visiting Da Lat Flower Park, I always see an enormous variety of beautiful flowers. It’s very difficult to grow hydrangea flowers, but here in the park, they are plentiful. The flowers are beautifully arranged giving visitors an impression that they are growing wild there”.
Natural flowers harmonize with man-made architectural features. Hydrangeas, orchids and roses and many other flowers make this city a kingdom of flowers. Wandering, visitors admire beautiful tulips imported from the Netherlands, peach blossoms from Hanoi, and many ornamental trees in the shapes of animals.
“I love the Orchid garden within the park. The orchids are hybridized with different colors. They are splendid. It would be a shame to visit Da Lat without visiting its flower park, ” said Huyen Phuong.
In recent years, Da Lat has become famous for its Flower Festival. Organized for the first time in 2005, the biannual festival now attracts a large number of tourists.
