Old Quarter promotes craft work
    
Tourists and the general public will be admitted free to many 
cultural activities in the Old Quarter to promote a festival entitled 
Traditional Handicraft with Contemporary Arts.
The festival will run from tomorrow (July 12) until the end of the month.
The skilled hands of artisans in and around Ha Noi will be obvious in the 
artworks on display.
Kim Ngan Temple at 42-44 Hang Bac Street will exhibit conical hats from Chuong 
village.
Fans from Chang Son village will be displayed at Dong Lac Temple at 38 Hang Dao 
Street.
Musical instruments from Dao Xa Village will become installation art at an 
ancient house at 87 Ma May Street.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy the beat of drums from Doi Tam Village in 
the northern province of Ha Nam at Ha Noi Old Quarter Information Centre at 28 
Hang Buom Street.
The festival will help enhance people's awareness of protecting traditional 
culture and the values of the Old Quarter..
