HCM City’s tourism revenues reach VND15 tril. in first quarter

HCMC obtained around VND15 trillion in tourism revenues in this
quarter with a year-on-year rise of 28%, according to a report of the city’s
Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Among three tourism segments of outbound, domestic and inbound tourism, the
domestic tourism segment is seen more vigorous thanks to the long lasting Lunar
New Year holiday.
The number of foreign tourists who bring huge profits for the city’s system of
services and hotels grew strong in this quarter, with some 972,000 foreign
arrivals recorded and up 8% from the same period last year, according to the
department.
Besides, the number of tourists traveling by air accounted for around 790,000
among the total arrivals in the quarter, up 8% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the
number of tourists traveling by sea and road does not increase much.
