A concert marking the 20th anniversary of Vietnam –Korea
diplomatic relations took place at the Grand Plaza hotel in Hanoi on February 6.
The concert gathered popular Korean artists and Blink, a five-member band with
traditional musical instruments from the Vietnam National Academy of Music (VNAM).
The Korean artists played classical masterpieces by Ludwig van Beethoven and
Johannes Brahms, while Vietnamese artists performed “Vietnam que huong toi”
(Vietnam – My native land) and “Trong com” (Cylindrical Drum). Especially, they
shared their love in art by joint playing the Vietnamese melody “Nho Ha Noi”
(Missing Hanoi).
Besides, the Korean artists also participated in other social-cultural
activities including a concert on February 5 for Korean people living and
working in Vietnam, visiting the Son Tay town-based orphaned children school on
February 7. They will also give lectures and present 10 violins to outstanding
students from VNAM on February 8.
The event was held by the Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam, the Concert World
company and the Beauty Mind charitable organisation, under the sponsorship of
the Korean Association in Hanoi, Daewoo E&C and MIT Construction company.
