Tours of heritage sites launched

A ceremony to launch tours of Viet Bac heritage sites was held in
Bac Kan on November 7 with a special art performance.
Other activities scheduled for November 6 to 9 include sporting events, a
photographic exhibition on Viet Bac’s land and people, a contest for presenters,
a costume show of ethnic minority groups, a presentation of Bac Kan tourism site
and a Bac Kan trade and tourism fair.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said developing tourism based on
available resources in the region is very important. Viet Bac has great
potential for developing tourism with imposing landscape and diversified
culture. However, to help Viet Bac become an attractive destination for
visitors, local authorities should join efforts to exploit and develop tourism
products in a sustainable manner for the sake of protecting nature and
maintaining cultural identity.
Famous landscapes in the region include Ba Be Lake – one of the world’s 20
biggest natural lakes, Tan Trao historic relics, Lenin stream, Pac Bo cave, Dong
Van Plateau Geopark. Viet Bac is also home to ethnic minority groups with
traditional folk songs, such as sli of the Nung ethnic minority, Soong co of the
San Diu and Then of the Tay.
Provinces will take turns organizing the annual event to exchange experience and
devise measures to support each other.
