Sa mu (Cunninghamia lanceolata) trees shrouded in a thick mist of the mountain and forest looks like a water-colour painting.
Local people in the pictureque Sapa resort district of northern Lao Cai province have grown these trees called ‘Samu’ or ‘Samoc ‘ to cover bare hills and decorate tourist sites.
