Metropole Hanoi adds rooftop lounge

Hanoi’s landmark hotel Sofitel Legend Metropole is adding a rooftop garden lounge and has redesigned its bamboo bar for its 110th anniversary.
The 300-square-meter open-air garden, Le Balcon, is expected to create a more peaceful atmosphere for Metropole’s morning Pilates and yoga classes.
It will also add an ideal venue for weddings, fashion shows, intimate dinners and private events.
The French style hotel re-opened its popular bamboo bar late last month with a makeover to accommodate 20 additional seats and serve more drinks with more modern equipment.
Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi was established in 1901 by two French investors and has since reigned as the most prestigious address in Vietnam with a guest list including Charlie Chaplin, Somerset Maugham and Graham Greene.
The hotel was recently named the Top Leisure Hotel in Asia by voters in Smart Travel Asia’s Best in Travel Poll 2011, and was ranked one of Asia’s Top 3 City Hotels for 2011 by Travel + Leisure magazine.
