HCM City welcomes 1,100 foreign MICE visitors
HCM City has welcomed 1,100 foreign scientists, doctors, and
academics who have come on a MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences,
exhibitions) trip for an ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies conference that
runs from yesterday (Nov 17) to tomorrow (Nov 19).
The city-based Ben Thanh Tourist said the visitors are staying at luxury
hotels like the Sheraton and Park Hyatt and will visit the Cu Chi guerrilla
warfare tunnels and other attractions after wrapping up a workshop. This is the
biggest MICE group Ben Thanh has served in 2011.

Asia Book of Records honors Vietnamese handicraft
Vietnam’s Nguyen Van Huu was presented the first Asian record
certificate for the biggest gemstone-made dragon, in Ho Chi Minh City on October
30 by Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, general director of Asia Book of Records.

The managing committee of the Tourism Promotion Organisation for

Saigon Railway starts new promotion for online passengers

21st), the Saigon Railway Station will offer a 50-90 per cent discount on fares
for passengers booking tickets at its website and paying at offices and ATMs of

Hotel room numbers up 100% in City
The number of three- to five-star hotels in HCM City has nearly
doubled in the last three years to 73 with a total of 9,700 rooms, the city
Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has said.
